Our client is a highly successful organisation within the building and plumbing merchants industry. They trade from over 400 locations nationwide, employ approximately 5,000 staff and have a turnover in excess of £1bn. Their businesses or ‘brands’ are leading merchants and specialists in their own fields.

They are now seeking to recruit a Products and Promotions Manager to work with all their brands, Category Management and suppliers to develop products, promotions and services aiming to meet customer needs and to maximise sales and profits.

Whilst driving the promotional programme and managing promotional activity across all the brands, the Products and Promotions Manager must establish the NPD programme of key suppliers and identify the opportunities these bring for our promotional programmes and category strategies. Understanding the requirements of all our client’s brands and their customers, you will launch and establish new products and services into the market place and monitor competitor activity to ensure products are in line with or ahead of the competition.

In order to develop strategic marketing plans for products / product lines, you will conduct market research, competitor analysis, pricing, customer engagement and business planning and use the Marketing Insights team to ensure all promotions and category strategies are driving by data rationale.

With experience of Own Brand, Private Label marketing and development, you will have a proven track record and experience in Product / Solution Marketing coupled with a sound understanding of pricing and buying. In addition, you must be experienced in leading product development and launch based on insight / data led approaches and possess strong product and commercial knowledge specific to the category.

With a creative and forward thinking attitude and sound commercial judgement, the successful candidate will have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, interact effectively with colleagues across the brands, establish credibility quickly and with confidence and possess excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Executive to join them at their head office in Theale, Berkshire.

To ensure that the company offer is market competitive, functional and meets the needs of their customers, the Marketing Executive must develop the direct mail channel and their mail order in conjunction with their main catalogue, website and other marketing material.

The Marketing Executive will be responsible for developing and maintaining solutions for customer data management, including internal data records and working closely with outsourced data providers. You will also work with their core suppliers, buying team and internal sales to develop their offer. You will be required to report campaign results to include revenue, customer acquisition and retention. Aiming to deliver planned direct mail activity on time, you will manage the mailing house process to include the design and print process and be responsible for marketing communication to include; direct mail advertisements / trade press, e-shots, website and internal sales.

In order to be successful in this role, candidates should have excellent planning and organisation skills, be creative and be willing to put ideas into practice. You will be a strong team player, able to communicate and work in a cross function team environment and be analytical with the capacity to interpret data. It is essential that you hold a formal marketing qualification and have experience and working knowledge of database software.

Candidates who have knowledge and / or experience of the catering industry are desirable but this is not essential.
